Window to Revelation
A personal perspective on the Book of Revelations as revealed in the Great East Window, York Minster.
The Great East Window of York Minster is truly a miracle. It contains one of the largest collections of medieval stained glass in the world. After a massive restoration project from 2012 to 2017, it now shines brightly once again.
I have spent many hours sat on a series of benches below the window taking it all in.
I have also spent many hours researching the End Times (i.e. Eschatology), including the Book of Revelations. This amazing book is the main theme portrayed in the window.
Apparently, the Book of Revelations is one of the most edited books in the Bible, with bits added, bits removed and the order bits swapped around. However, it still provides one of the best descriptions of the Great Awakening. Consequentially, I have taken the liberty of changing the order of some of the panels and the order in which they are described in the Bible.
This website is my perspective on the Great East Window and what it tells us about the times we are living through right now.
Please read the Great Awakening page which explains the approach that I have adopted in creating this blog. Please also consider watching the film starring Richard Harris called the Apocalypse. Richard Harris is a brilliant job of portraying St John and his visionary experiences.

The Great East Window of York Minster tells the story of Time: from the Creation, genesis, at the top, to the end of time, when a new heaven and a new earth is brought into being by Jesus Christ according to the Revelation of St John, at the bottom. it truly is a timeless masterpiece, with a message as relevant today as it was 600 years ago when it was painted.
