The game has a board with a map which includes Antarctica along with the rest of the world. I have noticed that most board games with maps of the world, ignore this huge area centred around the south pole.
Not only is the area included on the world map, but it plays a significant role as players are encouraged to increase their political strength there to the maximum of 5 which generated 3 action points which are needed to run operations - missions, board actions etc.
In addition, Antarctica has Sanctuary status.
This token is given by Homo Divinicus (the last upgrade for the Novice hero). Battles can not be fought in locations with Sanctuary status. The icon for the token was generated by AI - the full image is here:
Sanctuary status is an idea that I "borrowed" from the John Wicks series of films, where a lot of the action revolves around the Continental Hotel (which has sanctuary status).
Another AI generated image, but not used as the golden circle was considered a better reflection of the status.

Of course it says most of the "stories"about Antarctica are conspiracy theories - but what if they were correct and hidden by the Kabal - as there is a lot to discover about the place - the evacuation of the Third Reich (and possibly Hitler) via Argentina using a teleportation device in Antarctica.
