First Forest Bathing Walk – A Beautiful Beginning

Our very first Forest Bathing Walk, part of the Meditation Workshop series, took place today what a special day it turned out to be.

After a little adventure getting everyone to the right place (thank you all for your patience—there’s a helpful map on the website for Avalon, YO41 1LJ!), we set off into the forest and stepped into the peaceful magic of nature.

The trees were just beginning to stretch into spring, and we followed the fairy trail through Dreamery Gardens, soaking in the sights, sounds, and gentle hush of the forest. It was a joy to watch everyone begin to settle and soften into the experience, leaving the busyness of daily life behind.

Back at the café, we shared coffee, laughter, and good conversation before returning to my mobile home. There, we gathered in the sunshine, sipping structured water and chatting about the recent York Open Studios and our own creative practices.
The day ended with a grounding meditation by the stream. We sat in stillness, tuning into the bird song and grounding our bare feet, feeling our connection with the earth and each other. A gentle but powerful moment to close a nourishing day.
As a first trial run, it felt like a real success—thank you to everyone who joined and made it so special.
Our next session will be on Easter Sunday, with a playful Easter theme (and yes—please bring a chocolate egg!). Looking forward to sharing another beautiful day in nature with you all.
Thank you Bob. It was a really lovely experience. I'm sorry I can't be there next Sunday but look forward to another time. Glen
