The theme here is that in the future it will be possible to transfer someone's mind into a robot/host and thus become immortal. This is a persistent dream of the AI Prophets.

This theme is played out in Westworld with the plan to immortalize James Delos. The episode to watch is S2E2, the Riddle of the Sphinx.

The plan fails as the cloned body/mind breaks down when it reaches the "cognitive plateau. We see a broken down James Delos in the final scenes fro  S2E2.
