Simulated Reality

Simulated realities or virtual realities is another theme that I have investigated for some time. I believe we are actually living in a virtual reality (VR) right now. We are not in Base reality. I explain this in depth in my book My Way Zen which is based on the seminal work by Tom Campbell which he calls My Big Toe - TOE = Theory of Everything.

I loved the brief discussion in S3E1 where the question was asked are we living in a Virtual Reality within a Virtual Reality? Yes we are.

Here is a video that contains the sequence in S3E1 about the possibility of running a simulation within a simulation.

According to Nick Bostrom - this is the most likely option - see below.

In the paper the Simulation argument by Nick Bostrum, there are 3 possibilities:

​

  • humans go extinct before reaching "posthuman" stage

  • any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run simulations of their evolutionary history

  • we are almost certainly living in a simulation

​

The first two possibilities are viewed as unlikely - so we are almost certainly living in a simulation.
