Season Summaries

Before highlighting the different Themes in Westworld, I provide below brief summaries of the story lines in each of the three seasons.

Please also watch the many season recaps on YouTube such as those shown below:

Season 1

Season 1 introduces us to the Westworld park, the robot hosts and some of then story lines - such a Dolores and Teddy, the bank robbery etc.

Dolores's father Peter Abernathy starts to act strangely after seeing an out of place photograph (The role of this host is important in in Season 2). We also get introduced to the Man in Black (William) who is trying to find the deeper secret to Westworld. This is symbolized by the Maze.

The Maze, what it is and where it is, forms a key theme in Season 1.

We also get to meet the creators of the park, Dr Robert Ford and his partner Arnold (who was killed by Dolores). Another key host is introduced - Bernard Webre who is based om Arnold Lowe (clever use of the anagram)

The other key host is Maeve, who is upgraded and is able to control other hosts.

Logan (the son of James Delos, who is a key investor in the park) and his friend William are guests to the park.

The episodes are difficult to follow unless you realize that there are two periods being shown - one 30+ years ago when the Westworld was being created. This shows the young William. The second period is set in the "present" with William turned into the Man in Black.

Please watch the video that explains the chronological order of events.

The big moment is at the end where Ford is killed by Dolores and the hosts go on the rampage, killing many guests and security personnel.

Season 2

"Violent delights have violent end" Dolores

You also need to understand the chronological timeline

Season 3

Season 3 starts off with a intro for our new character Caleb, chosen by Dolores to be her right hand man.
